DesignMarch is an annual festival in Iceland, bringing together participants and guests with progressive design and innovation. The festival heralds new and surprising approaches and is a vibrant platform for ideas, diverse perspectives and knowledge driving force that enriches and enhances society.

Our events are located at various locations in Reykjavík and the capital area.
Under the option “Map” you can see all of our events, if you hover over a dot the name of the event at that location will appear and by clicking the dot it you will access further information.
DesignMarch is a five day festival and most exhibitions are open from noon to evening during the festivities.
The exact time one can find in the programme once it is live on the website. We recommend that guests look it up before attending.
The international conference and signature event for DesignMarch festival.
DesignTalks illustrates the spectrum of design and architecture, its relevance, power and potential in society, today – and tomorrow. How design and architecture can be the driving force for change and development. Different themes characterize the program each year.
DesignTalks has been the signature event for DesignMarch since 2099 and has, the last few years, taken place in front of a full house in Silfurberg in Harpa. DesignTalks aims to inspire designers and architects, community influencers, business, government and the public to collaborate and evolve.

Local ambassadors invite designers from their home countries to pair with Icelandic creatives over a common theme during DesignMarch. They open the doors of their residences and host a series of intimate discussions in “living room” settings, offering the guests a unique opportunity to meet the designers and get inspired.
Design Diplomacy is powered by Helsinki Design Week, the concept owner. Question cards are used in a tailored game to power a design-centric discussion. With an unusual set of questions, the events are set to explore designers’ inspirations, daily routines and work processes.
These events are free of charge but registration is needed.

DesignMarch is the biggest promotional platform for Icelandic design and architecture and reflects the growth of the design scene.
The festival’s program and content are systematically communicated to local and foreign media by the festival’s team, and in collaboration with Business Iceland.
