Exhibition of products designed by five product designers for the museum shop at Ásmundarsafn. Ásmundur Sveinsson’s visual world has been a source of ideas for new useful products dedicated to the artist’s memory and his contribution to Icelandic cultural and handicraft heritage.
Reykjavík Art Museum, in collaboration with five product designers, hosts an exhibition of products designed in the spirit of sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson and are presented in Ásmundarsafn’s museum shop. At DesignMarch, there will be a special presentation of these products and daily events with the designers, who will talk about their process, concept development and the final implementation of each product. Ásmundarsafn´s museum shop and educational space have been renovated and made more accessible for all. There is a strong emphasis on museum accessibility, and a museum shop plays a major role, where visitors are provided the opportunity to share in the art at reasonable cost. With the new museum shop in Ásmundarsafn, the museum is able to offer new products produced in Iceland, designed by domestic designers, in the spirit of the sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson.
