Nature provides diverse materials and opportunities to discover and explore. “Let’s go learn outside!“ is a learning tool designed to encourage teachers to use nature and the outdoors for teaching while making it possible for pupils to learn in new and creative ways.
“Let’s go learn outside!“ teaching tools are created to encourage pupils to use materials provided by nature for learning. With these tools as well as the diverse opportunities outdoor learning offers in terms of exploration and discovery, pupils are given the chance to approach different subjects through experiential learning. This encourages creativity and finding their way to their own conclusions, thus facilitating the building of knowledge by using all the senses.
At its current testing phase, “Let’s go outside!” is designed for outdoor education in mathematics for pupils aged between 5 and 8, using the concepts of pattern, numbers and form. Come to Elliðavatnsbær in Heiðmörk and try it out! Make sure to sign up in advance as the sessions are limited to 8 participants each.
